ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is designed to compare two types of anesthesia—sevoflurane and propofol—during surgery. Specifically, it looks at how these medications affect the Analgesia Nociception Index (ANI), which is a measure of how well pain is managed under anesthesia. The main question the researchers want to answer is whether using propofol leads to less change in the ANI when patients experience pain compared to sevoflurane.

To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be in good health (classified as physical status class I or II) and not have certain medical conditions, such as a history of severe allergic reactions to either anesthesia drug, neurological or psychiatric disorders, or diabetes. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, those who qualify may have the opportunity to help researchers learn more about the best ways to manage pain during surgery.
