ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new smartphone app called Engaging Families, designed to help caregivers practice important skills at home that can prevent substance use and mental health issues in their children. The app is meant to support families who are already part of a family-based prevention program by making it easier for caregivers to use what they've learned. Researchers want to find out if caregivers find the app helpful and easy to use in their daily lives. They will also compare how often caregivers use the app to practice these skills at home with those who do not use the app but receive reminders to engage in similar activities.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a parent of a child aged 11-17 years old, speak either English or Spanish, and have a smartphone that you use regularly. You also need to be part of the family-based program called EBI Bridges and agree to download the app on your phone. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and if you join, you can expect to provide feedback on the app’s usability while learning ways to support your child's well-being. Your involvement could help improve resources for caregivers like you in the future!
