ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called Social-emotional Skills for Thriving and Relating at School (SSTRS), which aims to help children starting kindergarten and their families. The main goal is to find out if children who take part in the SSTRS program develop better social-emotional skills and mental health compared to those who follow the regular kindergarten curriculum. Additionally, the trial will look at whether parents who participate in SSTRS improve their parenting skills and become more involved in their children's education.
To take part in this study, children must be entering kindergarten at a school participating in the trial. Over a period of 8 weeks, kindergarteners will have daily lessons from the SSTRS program, while their parents will watch videos, attend group meetings, and discuss their own and their children's behaviors and mental health. This program is not yet recruiting participants, but it offers an exciting opportunity for families to enhance their children's social-emotional development during this important time in their lives.
