ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of checking the health of a major blood vessel called the portal vein during liver transplants. The trial aims to compare a technique called transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), which involves using a special ultrasound from the esophagus, with the more traditional method of using transabdominal Doppler, which involves placing a device on the abdomen. The goal is to see which method provides better information about the portal vein during living donor liver transplants, a procedure where a portion of a healthy liver is given to someone in need.
To participate in this trial, patients must be over 18 years old and have undergone a living donor liver transplant. Unfortunately, if some necessary information isn’t available, they won't be able to join the study. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more details to come. If you or a loved one is considering a liver transplant, this study could help improve how doctors monitor patients during surgery, potentially leading to better outcomes.
