ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring different short-term therapy options to help people who are dealing with emotional challenges like depression and anxiety. Specifically, researchers want to see if brief treatments (which involve eight sessions) and ultra-brief treatments (just four sessions) can effectively reduce symptoms compared to a relaxation-based control group. They will also look into whether individual therapy works better than group therapy and whether group sessions are more cost-effective and beneficial overall.
To participate in this study, individuals aged 65 to 74 who are experiencing mild to moderate emotional symptoms may be eligible. To qualify, potential participants need to have certain scores indicating their symptoms, while those with more severe issues or specific mental health conditions won't be included. If chosen for the study, participants will be randomly assigned to one of the therapy groups and will complete questionnaires about their feelings at the start, end, and three and six months after treatment. The goal is to see which treatment options are the most helpful in improving emotional well-being.
