ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new approach called Trauma-Informed Motivational Interviewing (TIMI) to help people who have been affected by leprosy. Leprosy can lead to feelings of shame and isolation, which can seriously impact a person's mental health and overall well-being. By using TIMI, the researchers hope to support individuals in rebuilding their self-esteem, improving their mental health, and helping them reconnect with their communities.
To participate in this trial, individuals must have a confirmed diagnosis of leprosy, whether it’s current or in the past, and be experiencing physical, emotional, or social challenges as a result. However, those with severe mental health issues that could interfere with their ability to participate in the program will not be eligible. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it begins, those who qualify can expect to engage in supportive conversations aimed at fostering resilience and social engagement.
