ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new imaging technique called weight-bearing CT to see how well it can assess healing in patients who have experienced a specific type of fracture around their knee implant, known as a periprosthetic fracture. After having knee replacement surgery, some patients may suffer from these fractures, which can complicate their recovery. This study aims to improve the way doctors evaluate bone healing and alignment in these patients, potentially leading to better treatment outcomes and fewer surgeries in the future.
To participate, individuals need to be between 50 and 90 years old and have had revision surgery for a specific type of knee fracture related to their knee implant. They should also have a body mass index (BMI) of up to 40 and be able to provide informed consent, meaning they understand the study and agree to take part. During the trial, participants will undergo CT scans while standing and sitting to check their bone healing and report any pain they feel. By taking part in this study, individuals can contribute to improving care for others in similar situations.
