ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a type of treatment called hemithoracic arc radiotherapy for patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma, a serious cancer affecting the lining of the lungs. After surgery to remove part of the lung lining (called pleural decortication), the researchers want to see if adding radiotherapy can help prevent the cancer from coming back in the area where the surgery was done, while also keeping side effects low.
To participate in the trial, patients need to be between the ages of 65 and 74, have had the pleural decortication surgery, and must not have any cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. They also need to be able to give their consent to join the study. Participants can expect to receive radiotherapy after their surgery and will be monitored to ensure their safety and to evaluate how well the treatment works. It's important to note that those with certain health issues, like poor lung function or recurrent cancer, may not be eligible for this trial.
