ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping family child care home directors learn more about pesticide exposure in their environments. The study will involve about 30 directors from child care homes in California, where they will receive support and education on how to manage pests without using harmful pesticides. Child Care Health Consultants will collect carpet dust samples to check for pesticides and will hold monthly consultations for seven months. These consultations will help directors find ways to reduce pesticide exposure and improve the health and safety of the children in their care.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be directors of family child care homes that care for at least five children and are located in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, or Fresno County. They should also plan to keep their child care business open for at least a year. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, and it is important to note that only those who can read or speak English or Spanish will be included in the study.
