ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how financial incentives can help people who have regained weight after having weight loss surgery, such as gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy. The goal is to see if offering money or rewards for losing weight can motivate individuals to shed those extra pounds. The researchers will also analyze the costs and benefits of this approach to see if it could be useful on a larger scale in the future.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have undergone one of the mentioned weight loss surgeries more than two years ago. They should have gained back at least 10% of the weight they initially lost and still have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, which means they are classified as obese. Participants can expect to receive support and possibly financial rewards for reaching their weight loss goals. It's important to note that pregnant women and those planning to become pregnant within the year of the study are not eligible to join.
