ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how measuring small blood vessel function (microcirculation) can help doctors treat patients with sepsis more effectively. Sepsis is a serious condition that occurs when the body has a severe reaction to an infection, and even with prompt treatment, many patients still struggle or do not survive. The trial will involve nurses checking these small blood vessel functions to see if starting treatment sooner can improve patient outcomes.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and have been admitted to the Emergency Department with suspected sepsis within the last 6 hours. They should also have a high likelihood of infection, indicated by a fever and certain clinical scores. However, patients who have very low blood pressure on arrival, those who have already started receiving specific treatments, or those in critical condition are not eligible. If you choose to participate, you will be monitored closely, and your healthcare team will use the information gathered to help guide your treatment. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, so more information will be available soon.
