ClinConnect Summary

The WOW Project is an exciting clinical trial designed to help hospitalized children feel better emotionally and socially through the use of virtual reality (VR). Many young patients spend time in the hospital and miss out on learning and social interactions, which can make them feel sad and disconnected. This project aims to transport these children to amazing places around the world, like the Wonders of the World, using VR technology. Along with this virtual experience, they will also participate in fun, hands-on activities right at their bedside. The goal is to boost their joy and interest in learning while they recover.

To be part of this study, children must be between the ages of 5 and 17, speak English, and expect to stay in the hospital for more than one day. However, some children may not be eligible, such as those with certain medical conditions or those who recently had major surgery. Participants can look forward to an engaging and enjoyable experience that aims to enhance their emotional well-being during their hospital stay. This project is still in the planning stages and is not yet recruiting participants.
