ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on understanding how a specific test of amniotic fluid can help predict kidney function in babies who have certain kidney and urinary tract problems before they are born. Researchers want to see if they can reliably use a set of 98 specific proteins found in amniotic fluid to give doctors important information about the health of the baby's kidneys after birth. The study will take place at multiple hospitals across France and aims to make sure that this new prenatal test can be easily performed and that the results can be delivered quickly.

To be eligible for the study, mothers must be pregnant with fetuses that have serious kidney issues, specifically bilateral renal development anomalies, which means both kidneys are affected. Participants will need to provide consent, and fathers must agree as well. However, the study will not include pregnancies where only one kidney is affected, pregnancies that might pose risks from the testing, or cases involving multiple babies, such as twins. Overall, this trial is an important step in improving the care and management of pregnancies complicated by kidney problems.
