ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called PTeye in Parathyroid Adenoma, is looking at a new tool that helps doctors identify parathyroid glands during surgery for a condition called primary hyperparathyroidism, which is often caused by a growth called a parathyroid adenoma. The researchers want to see how well the PTeye device, which uses near-infrared light to make the glands easier to see, performs compared to standard tests. This study is currently recruiting participants who are over 18 years old and have been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism due to an adenoma.
To participate in the trial, individuals should not have had previous neck surgery or be undergoing re-operation for adenoma, and they also should not be enrolled in other studies that could affect the results. If chosen to take part, participants can expect to provide informed consent and undergo surgery with the assistance of the PTeye device. This study aims to improve surgical outcomes by ensuring that the parathyroid glands are correctly identified and preserved during surgery.
