ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the use of a medication called memantine in patients who have experienced mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Memantine has shown some promise in previous research for helping to protect the brain after an injury and may improve recovery. The trial aims to see if memantine can help improve brain function and cognitive abilities in patients with TBI, as some past studies have had mixed results.

To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 18 and 70 years old and have a mild to moderate TBI, as measured by specific scores on the Glasgow Coma Scale. However, certain health conditions, like diabetes or liver disease, may disqualify someone from joining. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but when it is, those who take part will receive memantine and be monitored to see how well it works in helping them recover from their injuries. It's an important step in understanding how we can better support brain healing after trauma.
