ClinConnect Summary
The "Recovery Finance" clinical trial is focused on helping people who have recently been released from jail or prison and are facing financial and mental health challenges. Many individuals in this situation struggle with financial wellbeing, which can make it hard to adjust to life after incarceration. This project aims to provide one-on-one coaching and access to useful financial tools to help these individuals improve their financial situations. It also includes training for bank and credit union staff to ensure everyone is treated fairly and without discrimination.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, have been released from jail or prison within the last 36 months, and identify as having experienced trauma, mental health issues, or substance use. You also need to be living in or using services in the greater New Haven area and be interested in getting financial guidance. If you join, you can expect to receive support that will help you manage your finances better, which can be an important step in your overall recovery and adjustment to life outside of incarceration.
