ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new way to assess optic neuritis, a condition that causes inflammation of the optic nerve and can lead to vision problems. The researchers want to use a type of MRI called synthetic quantitative MRI to find specific markers that can help doctors predict how a patient’s condition will progress and tailor treatments accordingly. This is important because knowing more about the patient’s condition can lead to better and safer treatment options.
To participate in the study, individuals must be experiencing a painful decrease in vision in one eye for less than a month and should be scheduled for an MRI. They need to give their consent to be part of the study. However, those with other eye conditions, a history of optic neuritis, or certain health issues like diabetes or glaucoma will not be eligible. Participants can expect to have a quick MRI scan, which will help researchers gather important information without taking too much time. This study is still in the planning stage and has not started recruiting participants yet.
