ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how dysfunctional breathing (DB) affects exercise capacity and balance in people with high blood pressure (hypertension). Dysfunctional breathing means having breathing patterns that are not normal, which can lead to symptoms like shortness of breath and difficulty breathing, even if there are no other lung problems. The study will use a questionnaire to assess breathing patterns and will also involve tests that measure balance and how well participants can exercise. The goal is to better understand how these breathing issues might impact physical performance in individuals with hypertension.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be between 18 and 70 years old, have been diagnosed with hypertension for at least six months, and have a score of 23 or higher on the Nijmegen Questionnaire, which assesses breathing issues. Participants will not be able to join if they have changed their medications in the past month or have any unstable metabolic diseases. Those who are eligible can expect to undergo several assessments related to their breathing, balance, and exercise ability, which may help researchers learn more about the effects of dysfunctional breathing in people with high blood pressure.
