ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, taking place at Drammen Hospital, is researching the effectiveness and safety of surgical procedures called arthrodesis for the wrist and hand. Arthrodesis involves fusing bones together to stop painful joint movement, which is usually considered when other treatments haven’t worked. The study includes patients who have severe arthritis, significant injuries, or other serious conditions affecting their wrist. Participants will be evaluated before and after the surgery at various points, such as 8 weeks, 3 months, and 1 year, to measure pain relief and improvements in movement and grip strength.
To be eligible for the trial, patients must be undergoing wrist or hand arthrodesis and have advanced joint problems that haven't improved with less invasive treatments. Those who agree to participate will provide their consent, and their information will be kept private and secure. This research aims to enhance understanding of wrist conditions and improve future treatment options, ultimately helping patients achieve better outcomes.
