ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new virtual reality (VR) app designed to help people in psychiatric inpatient wards. The goal is to see if this app can be easily used and accepted by patients and staff. The study has two main stages. In the first stage, a small group of 16 patients and 6 staff members will test the VR headset and share their thoughts on it. Their feedback will help improve the app before it moves to the next stage.
In the second stage, the improved VR app will be tested by 15 patients who are staying in the hospital. Before and after using the headset, participants will answer questionnaires about their stress, anxiety, and other mental health symptoms. They will also have a chance to discuss their experience with the VR app. To join the study, participants must be current patients or staff on a psychiatric ward and able to give their consent. However, those with a history of seizures or who have a pacemaker cannot participate. This trial aims to enhance the treatment experience for patients in psychiatric care through innovative technology.
