ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of breathing exercises using a smartphone app called CardioBreath on people with high blood pressure (hypertension) or those at risk (prehypertension). High blood pressure is a serious health issue that can lead to heart problems, so finding effective ways to manage it is very important. In this study, participants will use the CardioBreath app to do daily guided breathing exercises for six weeks. Researchers want to see if these exercises can help improve heart function and reduce stiffness in the arteries, which could help control blood pressure without medication.
To be eligible for the trial, participants should be adults aged 18 or older with a blood pressure reading over 130/80 mmHg or a previous diagnosis of prehypertension or hypertension. However, individuals taking certain medications, such as beta-blockers, or those with health conditions that would prevent participation will not be included. Participants can expect to have their heart health monitored and assessed throughout the study, and they will be part of a supportive program that aims to improve their overall quality of life. This trial could lead to a simple and effective way to help manage high blood pressure, making it a promising option for many people.
