ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the best ways to treat patients who have bone metastases (cancer that has spread to the bones) in the upper part of the thigh bone, which is known as the proximal femur. The researchers are looking specifically at different surgical treatments, including various types of nails and prosthetic devices, to see which methods help patients the most after experiencing fractures or being at risk for fractures.
To be eligible for this trial, patients must be adults aged 18 and older who received surgery for their condition at specific hospitals between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2023. Patients must have had a fracture or be at risk of one due to bone metastases, and their medical records must show relevant clinical and imaging data. During the study, the researchers will review medical records and imaging to gather information on around 600 patients. This research aims to improve treatment options and patient outcomes, giving hope for better management of bone metastases in the future.
