ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how common colorectal cancer and precancerous tumors are in patients over 18 years old who have a specific type of blood infection caused by certain bacteria from the gut. The researchers want to find out how often these cancers are found in the large intestine and rectum of people who are hospitalized for this infection. If you qualify for the study, you'll be invited to have a special examination called a colon capsule endoscopy about 4 to 8 weeks after you leave the hospital. This test uses a small camera that you swallow, allowing doctors to see inside your colon without needing traditional surgery.

To be eligible for this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have had a blood test that shows you have one of the specific types of bacteria mentioned. However, there are some reasons you might not be able to participate, such as having certain gastrointestinal conditions or previous surgeries. It’s important to understand that this study is not yet recruiting participants, so it may take some time before you can join if you are interested.
