ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help families who are struggling to get enough food, known as food insecurity. The study will test whether sending information about food resources through text messages, called the Text Connect intervention, is more effective and easier for families to use than the usual method, which is giving a paper handout when a child is discharged from the hospital. Researchers believe that the text messages will help families connect to food resources better and improve their food security more than just a paper handout.
To participate in this trial, you must be a caregiver for a child who has been admitted to the hospital and has been identified as experiencing food insecurity. The study is open to all caregivers, regardless of gender, and is currently recruiting participants. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive either the text message support or the paper handout to see which method helps your family more in accessing food resources. It's important to note that if you primarily speak a language other than English or Spanish, or if your child is readmitted to the hospital during the study period, you will not be eligible to participate.
