ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new surgical technique to repair tears in a part of the wrist called the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). The TFCC is important for wrist movement and helps stabilize the joint, but it can get injured from falls or repetitive motions. If these injuries are not treated, they can cause ongoing pain, weakness, and even arthritis. The trial will evaluate how effective a method called arthroscopic repair using mini anchors is in improving wrist function and reducing pain for patients with specific types of TFCC tears.
To participate in this trial, individuals aged from teenage years up to 60 with traumatic tears in the TFCC may be eligible. However, those with certain types of tears, such as degenerative ones or those linked to bone injuries, will not be included. Participants can expect to undergo a minimally invasive surgery and be monitored for their recovery and wrist function afterward. This study aims to provide valuable insights into the best ways to treat these common wrist injuries and help people regain their strength and ability to use their hands.
