ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving the safety of oncology nurses who handle chemotherapy drugs. Chemotherapy can be harmful, so it's very important for nurses to follow specific guidelines to protect themselves. The researchers are developing a program called "WISH," which stands for Workplace program to Improve Safe Handling of hazardous drugs. This program includes educational materials about chemotherapy safety and discussions about any incidents involving exposure. They will first gather feedback from nurses to ensure the training is effective and then test the program with two groups of nurses to see how well it works.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, able to read and speak English, and have been working as an oncology nurse for at least three months while handling chemotherapy drugs. There are no specific exclusions for this trial, so if you meet these criteria, you may be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in training that will help them follow safety guidelines better, ultimately aiming to reduce their risk of exposure to chemotherapy. The results from this trial will be shared with healthcare institutions to encourage better training for nurses in the future.
