ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring whether lying on your left side during pregnancy can help improve the growth of babies who are not growing as expected, a condition known as fetal growth restriction. The study wants to understand if this position not only helps with the baby’s growth but also how it affects the mother's health, including her mental well-being, and the overall delivery experience. Participants in the trial will either spend time lying on their left side for a few hours each day, combined with some stretching, or continue with the regular care they would typically receive.

To be eligible for the study, participants need to be pregnant women between 18 and 65 years old, who are experiencing fetal growth restriction with a baby estimated to weigh less than the 10th percentile for their age. They should be between 24 and 34 weeks pregnant and speak either English or Spanish. Participants will keep track of their activity using a smartwatch and will have follow-up visits at the clinic after four weeks and at delivery. This study is not yet recruiting, so it’s important to check back for updates if you're interested.
