ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how to better support pregnant individuals who may face weight stigma, which is when people are judged or treated unfairly because of their weight. This study will adapt an approach called Health at Every Size (HAES) specifically for obstetric care to help reduce the negative effects of weight stigma during pregnancy. The goal is to improve mental health and overall well-being for those who may be struggling with their weight and mental health during this important time.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a woman aged 18 to 50, currently in your first trimester of your first pregnancy, and have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30. If you join, you can expect to take part in group sessions led by trained professionals where you'll focus on various topics like nutrition and self-acceptance, all aimed at creating a more supportive environment during your pregnancy. This trial is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new way of caring for pregnant individuals that emphasizes respect and inclusivity, potentially leading to better health outcomes for both mothers and their babies.
