ClinConnect Summary
The OPERA Clinical Study is exploring how a new robotic system, called PRoBio, can help with cognitive rehabilitation for people with Parkinson's Disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). This innovative platform combines a robotic arm with virtual reality technology to create a personalized training experience. Over the course of four weeks, participants will join three sessions each week where they will engage in virtual cognitive exercises designed to improve their mental skills. Researchers will be looking at how easy and enjoyable the system is to use, as well as how it affects participants' cognitive abilities.
To join the study, participants must be adults aged 18 and older who have mild Parkinson's Disease and meet specific criteria for Mild Cognitive Impairment. Those with more severe cognitive issues or certain other medical conditions won't be eligible. Throughout the study, participants can expect to interact with the robotic system during their sessions, and the data collected will help tailor their rehabilitation experience. This research may pave the way for new rehabilitation methods in clinical practice.
