ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Remote Postpartum Blood Pressure Monitoring and Cardiovascular Education," is designed to see if education and regular text reminders can help new mothers manage their blood pressure after giving birth. The study focuses on women who experienced high blood pressure during their pregnancy and aims to find out if a structured program of remote blood pressure monitoring, along with personalized education and follow-up care through video calls, can reduce issues like postpartum hypertension and the need for emergency visits or hospital readmissions.
To participate, women must be at least 18 years old, have recently given birth, and have had new-onset high blood pressure during pregnancy. Participants will watch an educational video about managing hypertension after delivery, receive daily text reminders for six weeks, and may have their blood pressure medications adjusted to ensure better control. This trial is currently recruiting eligible participants, and it's important for women in the Ochsner System to have their medical care established there to take part.
