ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the psychological factors that influence risk-taking and suicidal behaviors in both adults and adolescents who are at risk for mental health issues. Recent reports highlight a growing concern about suicidal thoughts and behaviors, particularly among young people. The study aims to understand how certain mental processes, like persistent negative thoughts and impulsivity, contribute to these risky behaviors. By investigating these factors, the trial hopes to improve prevention strategies and support for individuals struggling with suicidal thoughts or actions.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between the ages of 12 and 65 and either admitted to a pediatric department for mental health concerns or be a member of a mental health support group for adults. Participants who do not have any thoughts of suicide will not be included. Those who join the study can expect to take part in discussions and assessments that will help researchers learn more about the psychological processes involved in suicidal behaviors. This research is important because it aims to provide a deeper understanding of the mental health challenges faced by at-risk individuals and could lead to better support and treatment options in the future.
