ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping Latine families improve their breastfeeding experiences. While many Latine mothers start breastfeeding, some struggle to continue for as long as they wish. The study aims to find out if having support from Spanish-speaking peer counselors who share similar backgrounds can help mothers breastfeed more successfully. Additionally, it will explore if providing extra financial support for breastfeeding supplies can encourage mothers to stick with it longer.
To participate, mothers need to be at least 18 years old, of Latine origin, and planning to breastfeed. They should also be eligible for the WIC program, which helps with nutrition for families. Participants will receive weekly visits from peer counselors and complete surveys about their experiences while also getting paid for their involvement. The study will last for the first six months after their baby is born, and all mothers will receive support and encouragement to help them in their breastfeeding journey.
