ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to assess the severity of burns using a special imaging technique called Spatial Frequency Domain Imaging (SFDI). The aim is to see if this technology, which has shown promise in earlier studies, can help doctors accurately determine how deep a burn is and how large the affected area is within the first 24 hours after an injury. This information is crucial for doctors to decide the best treatment for patients with burns. The study will compare two different SFDI devices, the Clarifi Imaging System and the handheld m-Clarifi, to see if they provide similar results in assessing burn injuries.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have thermal burns of any depth, whether superficial or deeper. Unfortunately, those under 18, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, are not eligible to join. While the study is not yet recruiting participants, those who take part can expect to undergo imaging tests to help guide their treatment, contributing to important research that could benefit future burn patients.
