ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a treatment for a condition called external snapping hip, which causes a painful snapping sound in the hip during movement, particularly in active individuals aged 18 to 40. The researchers want to see if a program called progressive resistance training, which involves gradually increasing the weight or resistance used in exercises, can help reduce pain and improve strength and quality of life for those experiencing this condition. After a previous study, participants reported feeling less pain and improved physical function after 12 weeks of this training.

To participate in the trial, individuals must be between 18 and 40 years old and have experienced a painful snapping in their hip within the last two weeks. They should also be able to show the snapping sound when moving their hip and can travel to the training facility. However, those who have had previous hip surgery, have certain medical conditions, or have been doing hip exercises frequently in the past six months are not eligible. Participants can expect to engage in a structured exercise program over a specific period and contribute to understanding a new treatment option that could be beneficial for many people with this condition in the future.
