ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how patients with acute chest pain are cared for in emergency departments at regional hospitals in Tanzania. Chest pain can be caused by serious issues like heart attacks, and timely diagnosis and treatment are crucial for better outcomes. The study aims to evaluate how quickly patients receive important tests and treatments, identify any challenges faced by hospitals, and see how these factors affect patient survival and recovery over 30 days. Researchers will collect data from 317 adults who come to the emergency department with chest pain, ensuring they receive the same standard of care as usual.
To participate, individuals must be at least 18 years old and present with chest pain or a suspected heart problem. The study is voluntary, and personal information will be kept confidential. Participants will not receive any changes to their usual care, and their health will be followed up via phone after 30 days. The findings from this research aim to improve emergency care for chest pain in Tanzania and potentially help other countries facing similar challenges.
