ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how higher levels of estrogen in the blood might affect recovery after surgery for women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Estrogen is a hormone that can influence how we feel pain and manage emotions, which are important for a smooth recovery after anesthesia. The researchers will measure the quality of recovery using a special score (called QoR-15) and will also look at other factors like pain, nausea, vomiting, and how long it takes for patients to go home after their procedure. They plan to include 100 women aged 18 to 45 who are having a specific type of IVF procedure called transvaginal oocyte retrieval.
To participate in this trial, women must be in generally good health and able to understand and complete some questionnaires about their recovery. However, those with serious health issues, certain mental health conditions, or who are taking specific medications may not be eligible. Participants can expect to provide their consent and complete some simple surveys before and after the procedure to help the researchers understand how estrogen levels may impact their recovery experience. This study aims to provide valuable insights that could improve care for women undergoing IVF in the future.
