ClinConnect Summary
The "Pregnancy Cohort Study" is looking at how certain health conditions during pregnancy, like obesity and gestational diabetes, can impact the health of both mothers and their babies now and in the future. Researchers want to understand how these conditions can affect pregnancy outcomes, the growth and metabolism of the baby, the quality of breast milk, and the mother's health after giving birth.
To participate in this study, women need to be pregnant and less than 14 weeks along, at least 18 years old, and able to give their consent to join. Those who join will attend three clinic visits during their pregnancy, have their baby delivered at the hospital, and come back for one more visit about 2-3 months after giving birth. During these visits, researchers will perform health checks, collect samples like blood and urine, and gather information about the mothers' and babies' health. This study is actively recruiting participants, so if you or someone you know fits the criteria, it could be a great opportunity to contribute to important research on maternal and child health.
