ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new method to help reduce pain after a specific type of surgery called laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is the removal of the gallbladder. The researchers want to see how well a combination of two types of nerve blocks—Modified Thoracoabdominal Plane Block (M-TAPA) and Rectus Sheath Block—works to lower pain levels after surgery and to decrease the need for opioid pain medications.

To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and generally healthy (classified as ASA1-2). However, certain individuals cannot join, including those with bleeding disorders, those taking blood thinners, or those with previous nerve damage. Participants should also not have severe liver or kidney issues, allergies to the anesthetics being used, or a body mass index (BMI) over 35. If eligible, participants can expect to receive the nerve blocks before surgery and will be monitored for their pain levels and any need for additional pain relief afterward. The trial is not yet recruiting, so information will be updated as it progresses.
