ClinConnect Summary
The TeamBirth-SWE trial is studying a new approach to improve communication and teamwork among healthcare providers and mothers during childbirth. The goal is to make the experience safer and more centered around the mother's needs, which can lead to better health outcomes for both mothers and their babies. Despite efforts to enhance safety during labor, issues often arise from poor communication, so this trial aims to tackle that by implementing a special care process called TeamBirth, adapted for use in Sweden.
To participate in this trial, women who are in labor (either starting on their own or through induction) and are at least 22 weeks pregnant can sign up. However, those planning a cesarean section or who are facing certain medical conditions may not be eligible. If you choose to join, you can expect to be involved in a supportive environment where your preferences and decisions are prioritized during the birthing process. The research team will look at how this new approach affects teamwork, patient involvement, and overall satisfaction with care, hoping to improve the experience for everyone involved.
