ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how getting extra sleep before a competition can help athletes perform better, especially when they might not sleep well during the event. Sleep deprivation, or not getting enough sleep, can make it harder for runners to do their best and may even increase the risk of injuries. The researchers want to see if sleeping more in the days leading up to a race can help improve performance and reduce fatigue during long runs, considering that some people may handle lack of sleep better than others.

To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 50 years old, physically active, and running at least one hour a week. You should also be getting around 6 to 8 hours of sleep each night. People with chronic health issues, sleep disorders, or those who work night shifts won’t be eligible to join. If you take part, you can expect to learn more about how sleep affects your running performance and contribute to important research that could help athletes in the future. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more information available soon on how to join.
