ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of a technique called the erector spinae plane block to help manage pain after a specific type of kidney surgery known as robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy. This surgery is often needed for treating small kidney tumors, and while it can be done with different surgical methods, it can lead to significant discomfort for patients afterward. The goal of the study is to see if this pain management method can reduce pain, lower the need for additional pain medications, improve patient satisfaction, and possibly shorten the time patients stay in the hospital after their surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between 18 and 70 years old, generally healthy (classified as ASA Class I or II), and have regular preoperative check-ups. However, people with certain health issues like heart or lung problems, diabetes, or those who need emergency surgery will not be included. If you participate, you will be randomly assigned to receive either the erector spinae plane block or standard care, and researchers will monitor your pain levels and recovery closely. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into improving pain management for kidney surgery patients.
