ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying an online workshop called "Building Better Caregivers," designed to support family and friend caregivers of people living with dementia. Many caregivers experience stress and depression because of their caregiving responsibilities, and this workshop aims to help them manage these challenges. The program lasts for six weeks and allows caregivers to learn important skills at their own pace, connect with other caregivers, and receive support from trained facilitators. Participants will also have access to a workbook to help them through the process.
To join the trial, caregivers must be 18 years or older, able to read and write in English, and have access to the internet on any device. They should also be providing care to someone with dementia who is receiving care from a participating health system. The trial will involve about 108 caregivers in California and New York, and it will look at how well the workshop works and if caregivers find it helpful. If successful, this pilot study could lead to larger studies that aim to improve the health and well-being of both caregivers and the people they care for.
