ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a technique called controlled hypotension, which is used during spinal surgery to help reduce bleeding and improve the surgeon's view of the area being operated on. While this method can be beneficial for the surgery, it may also lead to issues with blood flow to the brain. The trial aims to compare how different levels of controlled hypotension affect the amount of oxygen reaching the brain during surgery.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 40, and be scheduled for spinal surgery that involves 2 to 4 levels of instrumentation. You should also have a stable blood pressure below 140/90 mmHg and not have serious health problems. If you join the trial, you will be monitored closely to ensure your brain is getting enough oxygen during the surgery. It's important to know that this study is not yet recruiting participants, so you would have to wait for it to begin if you're interested.
