ClinConnect Summary
The DRHIVe Study is a research project aimed at improving the care and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV) by using an online tool called a patient portal. This portal will allow patients to access their medical records, receive appointment reminders, and fill out health questionnaires that help their doctors understand any challenges they may be facing. The goal is to make it easier for healthcare providers to identify problems that patients might not mention during visits, ultimately leading to better care and support. The study will take place at the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, where over 2,000 patients will have the chance to participate.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, confirmed to be living with HIV, and able to read and write in English or French. Those who are interested will use a smartphone app to log into the patient portal, where they can manage their appointments and complete health surveys. The study will also look at how well the portal works for patients and doctors, and how it affects patient satisfaction and attendance at appointments. Throughout the five years of the study, feedback from patients and healthcare providers will be used to improve the portal and make it more accessible for everyone.
