ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of headrests can improve breathing during a specific surgery called painless curettage for overweight and obese women. The goal is to see if using adjustable headrests can help prevent a problem called hypoxemia, which is when the body doesn't get enough oxygen. Participants in the study will be divided into three groups: one group will lie flat with their head straight, another will lie flat with their head turned to the side, and the third group will use an adjustable headrest.
To join the study, participants need to be women who are considering painless surgical abortion, have a body mass index (BMI) higher than 24, and are generally healthy according to a specific ranking system. They should also be able to understand and agree to participate. However, women with certain lung or breathing issues, neck problems, or mental health disorders cannot participate. Those who do join can expect to have their breathing monitored during the surgery to see how well each headrest position works. This study is currently recruiting participants and aims to help improve safety and comfort for patients undergoing this procedure.
