ClinConnect Summary
The ProMetrioS trial is a research study looking at how specific probiotics, which are good bacteria that can help with digestion, might help women with endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of it, causing pain and other symptoms. This study aims to find out if taking these probiotics can change the gut bacteria in a way that improves the health of women suffering from this condition.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a woman aged 18 to 35 who has been diagnosed with stage III or IV endometriosis through a biopsy. Unfortunately, women over 35, those who are pregnant, or those with certain health conditions cannot join. If you qualify and decide to participate, you will be part of a study that compares the effects of probiotics to a placebo (a dummy treatment) to see if the probiotics make a difference. It’s also important to note that you should not have taken any probiotics for at least a month before the study starts. Your involvement could help us understand more about treating endometriosis!
