Renal Function Intravitreal Injection Of Anti Vegf Faricimab Diabetic Macular Edema Diabetes Mellitus

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of a new eye treatment called Faricimab on kidney function in people with diabetes. Faricimab is an injection used to treat eye conditions like diabetic macular edema (swelling in the eye due to diabetes) and age-related macular degeneration. Previous treatments have sometimes caused kidney problems, so this study is important to see if Faricimab, which targets certain harmful proteins, might help protect kidney function instead, especially in diabetic patients who already have some kidney issues.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must have diabetes and either diabetic macular edema, age-related macular degeneration, or swelling in the eye from a blocked vein. They should also be taking medications that help protect their kidneys. However, individuals with severe kidney disease, those who are pregnant, or those who have had a kidney transplant or are on dialysis cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to receive regular check-ups and monitoring to assess both your eye condition and kidney health throughout the trial.
