ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how non-surgical treatment for gum disease (periodontitis) affects the movement of front teeth that are wobbly. The researchers will enroll 20 patients with moderate to severe gum disease and noticeable tooth mobility. Participants will first receive a dental cleaning treatment to improve their gum health. After that, their tooth movement will be checked again after 60 days. If there is improvement, a special temporary splint will be placed on the affected teeth to help stabilize them for another 60 days. The researchers will also look at how this treatment impacts the patients' quality of life and measure certain biological markers related to bone health and inflammation.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with stage III or IV periodontitis, which means they have advanced gum disease. They should have front teeth that have moderate to severe mobility. However, people with certain conditions, like severe tooth movement, bruxism (teeth grinding), or certain health issues like diabetes, won't be able to participate. Overall, this study aims to better understand how treatments can help stabilize wobbly teeth and improve patients' dental health.
