ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a special type of rehabilitation program for people who have aphasia, a condition that affects their ability to communicate, often after having a stroke. The program combines language training with techniques to improve thinking about thinking, called metacognitive training. The goal is to see if this combined approach can significantly improve language skills and help patients communicate better in everyday life, ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life.
To be eligible to participate, you need to have had your first stroke more than three months ago and have mild to moderate aphasia as measured by a specific test. You should be a French speaker and part of a health insurance plan. The study is currently looking for participants aged between 65 and 74, and it is open to both men and women. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive care focused on improving your language abilities, and researchers will monitor how this affects your brain’s communication networks. Please note that certain conditions, like severe cognitive impairment or other serious health issues, may prevent you from participating.
