ClinConnect Summary
The Compassion-Based Intervention for Lung Cancer Caregivers (CBI-LCC) trial is studying a new program designed to support family caregivers of people with lung cancer. The goal is to create a brief intervention that helps caregivers manage feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression. Over three years, the study will first develop the program based on feedback from caregivers and experts, then test it with real participants to see how well it works and how much they like it. In the final two years, 84 caregivers will be invited to participate in either the new program or a different support group to compare the results.
To be eligible for this study, you need to be a primary caregiver for someone who has been newly diagnosed with lung cancer within the past year, be at least 20 years old, and have access to a computer or smartphone with the internet. Participants can expect to engage in four sessions of the new intervention, which focuses on building compassion and self-care skills, while also being part of follow-up interviews to share their experiences. This research aims to improve support for caregivers, making it easier for them to cope with the challenges they face.
